It isn’t too early to start planning for the 2018 Cayman Cookout in Grand Cayman. This will be their 10-year anniversary. Eric Ripert, Executive Chef of the Ritz-Carlton is the host, together with a whole host of chefs which last year I think there were at least 100.
This is a four-day event with cooking demonstrations, food tastings, beverage tastings, parties, lunches dinners and much more. Most of the events are held directly on the beach which makes for a relaxed atmosphere to mingle and have direct contact with Chefs like Anthony Bourdain, Emeril Lagasse, and Jose Andres just to name a few.
Last year the first event was a “Reserve Tasting/Experience with Lunch at sister island Cayman Brac at the Le Soleil d’Or Resort with Eric Ripert, and Terry Peabody (world-famous New Zealand Winery Craggy Range). They flew guests on a Falcon 7X to Cayman Brac, and during the flight they tasted Peabody’s wine at 40,000 feet. Upon arrival in Cayman Brac, guests enjoyed a wine-pairing lunch before returning to Grand Cayman. Tickets for that event were not for the faint of heart going at a price of $1,500 per person.
Emeril Lagasse put on a cooking demonstration showcasing his passion in the mastery of Creole and Cajun cuisine from his own New Orleans. Known for “kicking it up a notch” it was paired with Venezuelan rum Diplomatico Mantuano which balanced well with the Creole. Ticket prices for this event: $165 per person.
Tickets for the events range from $75 to $1,500. The lineup and schedule of events have not been confirmed as of yet, but you can take a look for yourself of the fun had in 2017. Keep checking the official Website http://caymancookout.com for information regarding the events once the schedule is out. You may also call 345-815-6117 strictly for information as well. You must purchase the tickets online only.
What could be better than sand, gorgeous water and great food and drink!
